TV News: Tonight’s the night for ABC’s, Live All in The Family and Good Times Christmas Special, starring Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Ellie Kemper and others. The first attempt of this live format was great, back in May, this one should be even better.
At a party with about 50 Academy voters in attendance, they were asked to write their two favorite picks for lesser categories, documentary, make-up, hair, music score, and special effects. General consensus, the envelope please, Best Documentary between American Factory, fabulous story about an old G.M. plant, and Apollo 11, a historic saga. Hair and Make-up, Downton Abbey and Little Women. Music Score, Ford vs Ferrari and 1917. And finally, Special Effects, 1917 and Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. Odds and Ends: There was a story and photo of a homeless man taking a dump right in the middle of a grocery store in San Francisco, but in fact, that happens all the time there. … Several Disney actors have left the magic kingdom to make porn movies. They say it pays 10 times more, and it’s just a short 20 mile drive from the Burbank Disney lot to Chatsworth, California where 70% of the Porn movies are made. And, there has never been a bigger demand for porn in this country, Merry Christmas folks! … On a happier note #1 song last week was, All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey. … I know you’ve seen the story about 61 year old Madonna with her new 25 year old boyfriend, but did you see the New York Post Headline on the front page with a photo of the two, headline screamed, “Madonna with Child.”
