Movie Review Friday: And first, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, with the darling Isabela Moner as Dora and the always hot Eva Longoria. First things first, this is rated PG and is a kids movie. With that said, I really liked this movie a lot. From the Amazon jungle to a high school jungle, which Dora finds tougher. But duty calls when her folks need rescuing from a mysterious jungle, Dora and a few of her friends are off for a new adventure. Goofy, sure but entertaining and engaging. (PG) – (109 Minutes) – (3 Stars).
Next Brian Banks biopic which Rotten Tomatoes gave 53%, in my opinion is ridiculous. I was living in Long Beach, California when Brian was an All-American linebacker playing at Long Beach Poly High. USC wanted him, but then Brian was accused of raping a classmate, suspended, arrested, and imprisoned by some say a corrupt or raciest District Attorney. Six years later, the classmate admitted she was jealous, lied and Brian was released. But his football career and life was destroyed. I went to the trial, followed it everyday and this story needed to be told, bravo! Rotten Tomatoes, I don’t get your 53% on such an important and true story that’s so impelling! For me (PG) – (99 Mintues) – (3 Stars).
Finally, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. Pitiful, billed as a horror film, this thing could pass as a comedy. There are some great movies out there, but not this (0 Stars).
