Report for Friday, May 24th

This week’s Pop Quiz Theme is just fun, interesting stuff. Today, according to the National Aeronautics Board, these are the 4 safest airlines in the world, but which is #1? Is it Alaska Air, Nippon Air Japan, Air New Zealand, or Qantas, Australia?

Movie Review and Aladdin is a very old story but this new edition with Will Smith, Naomi Scott and Mena Massoud is a delight. Visually, the computer-generated live format is better than animation. There’s more music, more story, more believable characters and just a solid film. Once again snooty reviewers scoff at any film that doesn’t scream great cinema. To me it’s just a fun film that the whole family will like. Directed by Madonna’s ex, Guy Ritchie. I liked it. (PG) – (2 Hours) – (3 Stars).
Next, the best of the week, Booksmart. 105 minutes of laughs starring Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein as two highschool geniuses who are top in their class when it comes to grades, but at the bottom of their class in hip and fun. Remember, all work and no play make these girls boring. So, they decide to cram 4 years of partying into one night. Great writing, great acting and get ready to laugh. (Rated R) – (105 Minutes) – (3 ½ Stars).

And finally, opening today, Brightburn. About a very evil child from somewhere in outer space, I guess that’s where he’s from, we never know, nor do I care! It’s ridiculous, totally chaotic, makes no scenes except trying to shock you with countless bloodletting and junk. (Rated R) for Revolting – (91 Minutes) – (1 Star). The highlight of the movie is watching glass being pulled out of a screaming woman’s eyeball. Get my drift?

More Movie News: Two stars have made documentaries coming out this summer, Leonardo DiCaprio’s is on Climate Control and Bono’s is on Aids around the world.

Answer – #4 Nippon Air Japan, #3 Alaska Air, #2 Air New Zealand and #1 Qantas.
