It’s Movie Review Friday and I have two great movies that couldn’t be more different. Starting off with, Us. Hard to believe but Jordan Peele has outdone Get Out and BlacKkKlansman. Jordan both wrote and directed this film and in my opinion, this is the best horror film in memory. More terrifying, shocking, more suspenseful, and ready for this, also hilarious. Set in Santa Cruz at an amusement park that really exists! A regular family has a nice day, although the young daughter meets another little girl and although something seems odd. But wait, later that night a very creepy family shows up on their driveway. But wait again, that creepy family is them. If you think that’s weird, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Hide your eyes, grab your date and scream. You’ll love it. And, we’ll see Us costumes come Halloween. (Rated R) – (118 Minutes) – (4 Stars)
Next, Forget, The Kids are Alright, The Hours and Still Alice, Gloria Bell is the best movie Julianne Moore ever made. Gloria Bell is a fun romantic comedy that hits all emotions, even the most macho dude will feel their feminine side, and it’s all good. Divorced she’s a hard-working woman who hustles just as hard after hours on the dance floor. And then life changes when she meets Arnold, played by John Turturro. Sparks fly but the fire faces an ex-husband, grown son, guilt and confusion. A fabulous movie, great in every way and full of surprises. (Rated R) – (102 Minutes) – (4 Stars)
