Move Review Friday: Last week I gave, Sorry to Bother You, 3 stars and it opens everywhere today. And “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” my favorite and #1 documentary, Is now open everywhere (4 Stars). … Okay, I loved the first Hotel Transylvania movie and the second was all right, however the third installment is lacking in creativity and fun. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, just not as good as the first two. Not even the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, and Steve Buscemi can make it better than it is. With that all said, kids will beg their parents to see it and the Box Office will be strong. (PG13) – (100 Minutes) – (2 ½ Stars). … Finally, Skyscraper, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. It’s like a dumber Towering Inferno. Honestly, the special effects are fabulous, however the plot and acting is embarrassing. But then again, you don’t expect “the Rock” in something like the Notebook or Gone with the Wind. If you like “the Rock” and effects go see it. (PG-13) – (100 Minutes) – (2 Stars).
Movie Head’s Up: I’m hearing Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout is the best of the franchise by far, can’t wait.
TV News: Emmy Nominations announced yesterday, and I’ll cover the Awards on September 17th but other than the fact that Netflix beat out HBO and the networks sucked. Really, who cares?
