Friday Movie Review: Opening today Annihilation, and this is probably the scariest film you will ever see. I’ve never seen anything even remotely like it. When a biologist/Natalie Portman’s husband played by Oscar Isaac comes back from a newly discovered land as a vegetable, she and other biologists head back to the mysterious land, heavily armed but not ready for what they find. This film is thrilling, riveting and scary as hell. Bring a spare pair of drawers. (Rated R) – (108 Minutes) – (4 Stars). And don’t forget that Black Panther, Peter Rabbit, Jumanji, 15:17 To Paris, Early Man, and the Post. All are terrific movies and are playing now.
The Olympics are about over, got to share my favorite Olympic story. When I was doing mornings at KROQ I used to do the KROQ/Mike Evans Dog/Pony Show at clubs on Friday afternoons, barbers cutting hair, people getting massages on stage. I’d host Lets Make A Deal, Price Is Right, Dating Game KROQ Bikini girls, a killer 90 min show. My General Manager came to me, said the 1984 L.A. Olympic Committee and President Peter Uberoth had seen my Dog/Pony Show, and asked if I would entertain the athletes in the Olympic Villages during the games. It was 2 great weeks, I had total all access, saw everything, one of the true highlights of my life.
Odds and Ends: Lady Gaga’s health problems that caused her to cancel concerts is not better. It’s really taking a toll. … And shout out to my buddy Blair, had a hole in one yesterday, that’s the most fun you can have with your cloths on.
