I have 3 timely interesting nuggets. At the Golden Globes Sunday, Hollywood was screaming about the horrible, disgusting practice of some Hollywood stars sexually harassing women, which I agree! But let me point out how hypocritical Hollywood is. Yesterday I viewed videotape of the 2003 Oscars when convicted child rapest, Roman Polanski won Best Director for the Pianist. And back then Jack Nicholson, Kevin Spacey, Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda, Arnold Schwarzenegger and yes, Oprah stood and gave the child rapest a standing ovation. But Polanski wasn’t even there, he had fled the country after being found guilty of 6 counts of raping a 13 year old girl, but that didn’t bother those stars back then, giving Polanski a 5 minute standing ovation. Horseshoe Hollywood hypocrites.
On a lighter note, Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa won the football College Championship. And now Tennessee Titans quarterback, Marcus Mariota has a chance to win his team the Super Bowl Championship. Both guys went to tiny St. Louis High School just up the hill above my home town of Kaimuki Oahu. There’s never been 2 quarterbacks come from the same high school to win Super Bowl and national College Championships.
Reminds me, NFL owners say they were surprised TV ratings went down this past season, but were shocked that Play-offs took a huge drop last week. I’m not surprised, 10 years ago fans followed their teams, now with the popularity of Fantasy Football, fans follow the players on fantasy teams, and when the Play-offs start, Fantasy football is over, and so are the huge TV ratings.
