Pop Quiz Oscar question – How did Director Alfonso Cuaron get the idea for Gravity?  Did he dream it, did his 16-year old son give him the idea, or did he get it from a comic book?

Big 6 Oscar Predictions – Best Supporting Actress, Lupita Nyong’o, was fabulous in 12 Years a Slave. Odds makers say she will win.  I am picking Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle to pull the upset.  Best Supporting Actor is easy. Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club will win.  Best Actor, Leonardo DiCaprio has never won and won’t win this year either. I like Matthew McConaughey for Dallas Buyers Club.  The Best Actress category is a 3 horse race: Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine, Amy Adams in American Hustle and Sandra Bullock in Gravity.  I wouldn’t be shocked if any of the three won, however, I like Cate Blanchett.  If there is an upset it will be Amy Adams.  Best Director is Alfonso Cuaron for Gravity and even with Alfonso winning that, Best Picture should be 12 Years A Slave!

Oscar Sidebars – It will be rainy and windy on the Red Carpet.  Personally, my biggest disappointment is that The Butler took the pipe.  I thought The Butler was one of the best 5 pictures of the year and got zero nominations.  All the scoop from the Red Carpet Show and parties on Monday!

Movie review – Opening today, Son Of God, starring an incredible Diogo Morgado as Jesus Christ.  Here we go again…critics hate it, I loved it! It’s a little slow, but that’s the way it was 2000 years ago. A great story carefully told. Rated PG-13, 2 Hours 18 Minutes – 3 ½ STARS.

Answer – His 16-year old son gave him the idea.
