Two movies opening this weekend, and both are fabulous. First is Disney’s great animation, Frozen. This is not only entertaining and funny but also teaches lessons of love, courage and perseverance. The story is about two sisters that have special powers, a love story and a fabulous fairy tale. (Rated PG) – (99 Minutes) – (3 Stars) The other movie, Mandela – Long Walk To Freedom is guaranteed to get an Oscar nomination for the star Idris Elba. This is a great biopic that documents Nelson Mandela from childhood, his fight for equality, the violence, decades in prison until he becomes President of South Africa. (Rated PG -13) – (149 Minutes) – (3 Stars)
What some celebrities are doing for Thanksgiving, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner cook dinner together, and will have a house full of 17 relatives and friends. Kirstie Alley will be back home in Kansas, cooking for 15, Spike Lee cooks for his family in NY but different from most, no Turkey, all vegetarian. Steve Carell says he cleans the house himself and cooks the entire dinner for 21 people. Matthew McConaughey is flying his family of 14 from Texas to California, he cooks and 96 year old Kirk Douglas will hand out dinners to the homeless at the LA Mission.
