Movie Reviews: Last year film maker Jeff Nichols did a movie called, Take Shelter, great movie. Opening today, Jeff’s new film, Mud and it’s another great movie. Starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon, it’s an offbeat film set on the Mississippi river about two teenage boys who meet a man on the run who is played by McConaughey. They bring him food, and he tells them stories with lots of twists and turns throughout. This film works at every level, great film making. (PG-13) – (130 Minutes) – (3 ½ Stars)

Also opening today is, Kon-Tiki, the true story of the 1947 crossing of the Pacific on a Balsawood raft by explorer, Thor Heyerdahl and a few of his few believers. This is great story telling, beautifully filmed and well written. (PG-13) – (2 Hours) – (3 ½ Stars)

The Jackson’s -vs- AEG trial is coming to an end. Two problems, there’s no proof that AEG was responsible for Michael’s death, and they have to prove damage and in reality, the Jackson’s estate has made a lot more money since Michael’s death.

Odds and Ends: Justin Bieber just got more tattoos, including one of Selena Gomez that
that makes 42, he says he wants 100. … Truth be told Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t the most beautiful woman she is the most pompous. Spotted having dinner yesterday in Dallas, Bill Clinton and the Dallas Cowboy owner, Jerry Jones talking football, Talk about bizarre. … The entire cast of Duck Dynasty has been invited to the White House correspondents dinner, amazing.
