I want to share with you what I consider the five best movies you can find on any streaming service. If you’ve seen all five, they are worth seeing again. If you’ve missed any of them, they are must sees. #5 Lost in Translation, this is a quirky, comedy, drama made in 2003. It is Sofia Coppola directing debut and Sofia also wrote and produced the film. Movie stars Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson (4 Stars). … #4 Chinatown, made in 1947 one of my all time favorites. A private detective is hired to expose an adulterer in 1930 Los Angeles and finds himself in a web of deceit, corruption and murder. Starred Jack Nicholson, who was nominated for best actor, Faye Dunaway, nominated for best actress, directed by Roman Polanski nominated for best director. And Chinatown was also nominated for best picture (4 Stars). … #3 Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, from 2019 a comedy/drama set in 1969 and starring Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, directed by Quintin Tarantino (4 Stars). … #2 The Holdovers, a comedy/drama from last year that received Oscar nominations for best actor for Paul Giamatti, best supporting actress for DaVine Joy Randolf, also best screen play, best editing and oh yes, best picture!
