Lot’s of Show Biz Business: Twisters did a whopping $81 million domestic weekend at the box office. And exit polls of people leaving the theater after watching the movie gave it a 98% positive recommendation and said the would tell others to see it! So look for another big weekend next weekend, despite the Olympics dropping Friday.
Katy Perry said her career was damaged by staying on a year too long as a American Idol judge. However, Katy’s new single is so bad very few radio stations are playing it. She has also turned her career over to song writer/producer, Dr. Luke. Luke has worked with Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and even Katy Perry in years past. Concert promoters say there’s no interest in her! She’s also been trying to get a Kim Kardashian type TV show but that’s not happening! And her 8 year relationship with Orlando Bloom who she shares a child but not married is also on the rocks. Not good! Meanwhile, Pink will be replacing Katy on American Idol.
Never been a fan of Disney’s treatment of employees and here is just another reason why. 99% of Disneyland, California Disney Adventure, Downtown Disney and other park employees have called for a strike vote against Disney! These include custodians, ride operators, park characters, candy makers, merchandising clerks and other workers. Bet on it, there will be a strike call and Disney will finally have to pay.
Since we last spoke, one of my favorite comedians, Bob Newhart (94) died. One of my favorite routines was one Bob did 50 years ago, when he was interviewing the first man to go to Mars who said Mars women were very different from earth women because Mars women breast were on their backs. Asked if that was a good thing, the man said, well it’s more fun when you’re slow dancing. Hey, it’s still funny to me 50 years later!
