It’s Friday and I have another Mike Evans true story. This happened in 1974 when I was traveling with the L.A. Dodgers as a reporter. The Dodgers went to the World Series but lost in five games to the Oakland A’s. When flying back to L.A. on the Dodger Plane I was shocked many of the players were drinking and laughing! Sitting next to Bill Buckner and I asked him, you just lost the World Series, why aren’t you upset? Buckner looked at me like I was crazy and said, “I’m not happy about it, but we played our best, we lost and the seasons over! He added, We’re not crazy fans who go nuts! With that old Mike Evans story in mind, who ever wins Sunday, just enjoy the game, don’t get crazy, morn, or be depressed. It’s just a game and you have no control.
I love being on with you and I’m going to do something probably never done before. An experiment, that may prove me a clairvoyant or I’m going to get a lot of egg on my face. On Sunday at noon, I am going to send a report and talk about what happened during the game hours before the game is played. It will be interesting to see how close or off I am to what really happens. That will be my Monday report, Be back Tuesday to see how I did.
