Report for Tuesday, Oct 31st

Happy Halloween, are you a fan? Any plans? We get a lot of Trick or Treaters.

Two movies you really need to know about. First, available in limited theaters this Friday, then on Netflix on the 17th, Rustin! The biography, historical drama about civil rights leader Bayard Rustin. In 1963 the great March on Washington D.C. took place and while Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. got all the credit it never would have happened without Dr. King’s right arm man Bayard Rustin who spent years making it happen. Rustin fought all the odds, went against all the threats, feared for his life but from the first dream of the walk, he never gave up! He made it happen only to have King fire him because he was gay! This movie is produced by Barack and Michelle Obama. It is a must see.

And head’s up, The other movie is going to be huge. Coming out on November 10th, a week from Friday called, The Holdovers! Another must see movie set in the 1970’s. Great story telling, great acting, it will make you laugh, it will make you cry and make you think! Set at a Prep school during the two week Christmas break about a teacher who nobody likes but down deep cries for understanding, a student who nobody likes but down deep cries for understanding and a middle age cook who just lost her son in Vietnam. The three are stuck at the school during their long two week break. Their relationship goes from contempt to hatred to opening up to each other, and I guarantee, this will be a on going Christmas classic, fabulous. The Holdovers, with Oscar Nominee Paul Giamatti. Instant Pop Quiz Question, What did Paul Giamatti’s father do for a living? He was the Commissioner of Baseball.

Speaking of baseball, Is It True, the two of the best pitchers in baseball will have new homes next year? That L.A. Dodger Clayton Kershaw will become a Texas Ranger. And California Angel, Shohei Ohtani will become a Los Angeles Dodger. We’ll see.
