Something different, a profile on Leonardo DiCaprio who will get an Oscar nomination for his performance in Killers of the Flower Moon. Leo will turn 49 in just two weeks. Born in Los Angeles, he is an only child. As a kid his mom took him to TV show auditions. As a toddler he was hired for the Romper Room show but was fired for being disruptive. He dropped out of high school as a sophomore but later got his GED. At the age of 14 he started getting TV commercials, Kraft Cheese, Matchbook Cars and Bubble Yum Gum. Then TV gigs, parts in the Lassie show, Santa Barbara, Outsiders, Parenthood and others. In 1993 at 19, the big break What’s Eating Gilbert Grape for which he won an Oscar! Besides early TV, Leonardo has appeared in some great movies, including The Aviator, Basketball Dreams, Titanic, Man in the Iron Mask, Gangs of New York, The Great Gatsby, Django Unchained, Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed and many more. He almost married his first love Gisele Bündchen who he dated for five years but he is a confirmed bachelor! Best friends are Robert De Niro, Matthew McConaughey, Tobey Maguire and Bill Clinton. Leonardo doesn’t do interviews and avoids the media like the plague. Oh yeah, he’s an avid bee keeper and that’s Leonardo DiCaprio.
Tommy James and the Shondells tour starts tomorrow at the Las Vegas Golden Nugget! It’s a nationwide tour. And I also bring it up to promote his book that he wrote in 2011, Me, the Mob and the Music. This is one of the greatest rock and roll books ever written! Tommy was unwillingly owned by the mob. From time to time his life was in jeopardy and the stories are unbelievable. You won’t find a better rock and roll book and he names names. Someday I’ll tell you about the drug desbutal that Tommy and I enjoyed.
I’m glad Britney Spears blasted Ryan Seacrest, the secretive Hollywood dude for his questioning Britney’s parenting skills. What the hell? Seacrest is 48 and never been parent, he should shut the front door.
