Report for Friday, June 2nd

The Jamie Foxx story just keeps getting more bizarre! Yesterday there were a couple unsubstantiated reports that Jamie was paralyzed and blind, again, unsubstantiated. However, Jamie’s family made no comment. For the record, Jamie has not been seen since April 7th.

Movie Review Friday: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the first June blockbuster and will be one of the big blockbusters of the summer. The computer generated Marvel animation is a compelling, thrilling, smart, fabulous movie with heart! The film goes beyond comic book dimensions with fabulous super powers but also with a personal touch. This is a very special sequel in so many ways and will draw emotions out of you, you didn’t know you had (Rated PG) – (2 Hours 20 Minutes) – (4 Stars). … In, The Boogeyman, a mother dies, her two daughters are devastated then terrified, there is a clueless dad and a mysterious stranger who brings a supernatural invisible monster in the house. This is a convoluted confusing Stephan King horror film. They’re called jump scares, you know when something jumps out at you or a loud noise you are not expecting, and there are a lot of jump scares in this movie but that’s about it. The two daughters played by Sophie Thatcher and Vivien Lyra Blair save what could have been a disaster. The old saying, if it’s not on the page it shouldn’t be on the stage, is obvious in this case. Stephan King gets a ground rule double but no home run (Rated PG-13) – (1 Hour 38 Minutes) – (2 Stars).

TV News: John Krasinski is back for season four as Jack Ryan. The first of six episodes and will air June 30th. This will most likely be the final season of a really good show.

Show Biz Business: Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chief wide receiver Travis Kelce was such a hit hosting Saturday Night Live, the Creative Artist Agency has signed Kelce to off field representation. There’s talk of Kelce hosting a late night talk show with professional athletes on ESPN.

Sports Shorts: The Denver Nuggets made fast work in game one against Miami last night. One down, three to go.
