Movie Review Friday: Starting with Fast X. From Los Angeles 2001, some kids that were small time smugglers who advanced to jail breaks, train robberies and now they are back again and won’t stop until they have world domination for their family business. My grandmother Neena would call this 2.5 hours of pure blow em up, shoot em up. That’s all it is, horrible acting by Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa, you can do better.
If you are a fan of this genre, enjoy. If not, you’d enjoy a root canal more. Sorry folks (Rated PG-13) – (1 Star).
On the other hand, In limited release, the documentary, It Ain’t Over, the story of Yogi Berra. At the 2015 Baseball All Star Game, they introduced the four greatest living baseball players, Hank Aaron, Sandy Koufax, Johnny Bench and Willie Mays, and I was privileged to interview all of them multiple times. However sitting in the stands was Yogi Berra who had more MVP Awards than the four guys I mentioned, more All Star appearances than any of these guys, and more World Series Championship rings that these guys combined. Yogi was amazing and there were all those Yogi-isums, It’s not over till it’s over,” “nobody goes to that restaurant anymore because it’s to crowded,” “the future ain’t what it use to be,” “take it with a grin of salt,” “a nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore,” “You can Observe a lot by watching,” “It’s deja vu all over again,” and countless others. If you can find It Ain’t Over, see it! A great baseball story about a great and hilarious baseball guy. If you can’t find it, I’ll let you know when and where it’s streaming.
