Report for Tuesday, Mar 14th

We start with one of the biggest family feuds in Hollywood history, the Presley’s! When Elvis divorced Priscilla, he willed Graceland to his 9 year old daughter Lisa and when Lisa became of age she took over. When Lisa died, she willed Graceland to her daughter Riley, but Priscilla continued to over see the daily operation, till last Friday when Riley had Priscilla locked out of Graceland. This is all about Priscilla suing Lisa’s estate and Riley claiming fraud. This is going to get very ugly.

Documentary News: And I can’t wait for all four of these to come out. Johnathon Majors who is starring in Creed 3, will play Dennis Rodman in “48 Hours In Vegas”. The crazy story of Rodman who left the Chicago Bulls during the 1998 Playoffs and went nuts in Vegas. … Questlove won last year for Summer of Soul, is directing and producing the documentary Sly, the story of Sly and the Family Stone. Sly’s people owned KROQ for several years when I was there and it was a bizarre out of control zoo. It will air next year on Hulu. … Lifetime is doing a two part Janet Jackson follow-up documentary. … Finally, a documentary called, Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields will show Brooke’s loves, successes, falls, family, friends, health and more. Great story coming to Hulu.

Final Oscar Nuggets: Producers say the nicest person was Lady Gaga and the biggest jerk was Hugh Grant who ignored direction and refused to do interviews. And biggest studio and distributor winners were A-24 who’s pictures won 9 Oscars, Netflix won 5, Disney 2, MGM, Warner Bros, Paramount 1 each and Universal 0.

Show Biz Business: Disney is going to get a bigger slap than Chris Rock. First they lost their Florida tax breaks, now their animation department is demanding to be unionized. It is amazing to me that it’s taken 100 years for this to happen. … Meanwhile, Saturday Night Live post production writers plan to strike April 1st. … But when Elton John finishes his world tour, he will devote a lot of his time working for senior citizen causes. What a great thing to do, Good for Elton, and I agree.
