Report for Friday, Jan 13th

It’s Movie Review Friday and two movies opening nation wide, the first is Plane. A suspenseful thriller about a commercial flight that crash lands on a remote island and while the passengers survive, they soon learn the island is occupied by a rebel gang. The Captain played by Gerard Butler and one of the passengers, a convicted murderer played brilliantly by Mike Colter, must work together to find and rescue the passengers who have been taken prisoners! Not a complicated plot, great action and solid acting and surprisingly even some laughs sprinkled in (Rated R) – (100 Minutes) – (3 Stars). … The other movie is A Man Called Otto. Tom Hanks latest and once again I disagree with Rotten Tomatoes. From the novel of the same title, Hanks plays a sarcastic, mean spirited, depressed, crotchety widower who can’t get along with his neighbors! However, when a new spunky, pregnant neighbor moves in, she makes it clear she’s not intimidated and it’s game on. A comedy, drama with soul (PG-13) – (2 Hours) and while Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 69%, I give it 93 ½ Stars). Guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
