Report for Tuesday, Nov 1st

Lot’s of TV News: If you are a Handmaid’s fan and haven’t been paying attention, it’s back on Hulu. One episode dropping every Tuesday like tonight. … The Patient with Steve Carell ended last week and like Seinfeld and other finales, it was weak. However the series wasn’t bad and Steve Carell showed some big acting chops. … The much talked about and promoted, The New Love Boat, a bachelor/bachelorette show that takes place on a ship, ratings are so bad, it’s being dropped to CBS’s Paramount+ and I expect it will be canceled when they finish the current shoot. Good riddance. … On the other hand, I loved America’s Most Wanted, the show resulted in capturing 1,187 felons, from rapist, bank robbers, kidnappers and murderers, hated to see it taken off the air. But Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix has picked up where Most Wanted left off. Now in their third season, they are starting to make solid arrests.

Odds and Ends: Good news, the new four hour Avatar has been cut to 3 hours 22 mins, still too long. … There was a great movie, an action, sci-fi, thriller 10 years ago it was called, Lucy. It is one of my favs. Lucy was played by Scarlett Johansson as a unwilling drug mule who is transformed into a super human merciless warrior with an attitude. It co-starred Morgan Freeman. And now Freeman and maybe even Scarlet are bringing it back as a television series. And Apple, Netflix, Hulu and Paramount+ all want it. … Can you believe it department. A single front row ticket to Adele’s opening night in Las Vegas has sold for $38,000 and another for $28,000. Some people have way too much money.

Sports Shorts: As predicted here, it appears Aaron Judge will end up in San Francisco. The California boy never really fit in N.Y.C. and will take less money to move. … Prediction, the Oakland A’s are moving to Las Vegas. With Vegas having a successful NHL and NFL team, only natural. But the A’s are horrible, so what will they call the new Las Vegas baseball team? The Las Vegas Crapshooters?
