Report for Thursday, July 28th

I gotta comment of Norman Lear turning 100 yesterday, Norman Lear is television! Norman gave us, among other things, All In The Family, The Golden Girls, Sanford and Son, Good Times, The Jefferson’s, Maude and films like Fried Green Tomatoes. He flew 52 missions as a pilot in Germany during WW2. A true TV and American hero.

Two new documentaries, First, The Most Hated Man on The Internet. the story of a scumbag Hunter Moore and his defunct website, Is Anyone Up. It’s on Netflix. He would find lovers who have broken up, and convince the person wanting revenge to send him explicit nude photos of the other person, and he would post them on the web. This is a shocking but great documentary, about a truly hideous person (3 Stars). … The other is a seven part documentary called the Captain about Derek Jeter. Problem is not all that truthful, too much making Jeter look like an angel, he also had a dark side. ESPN.

TV News: While MLB, NFL and NBA have their own networks, and Major League Soccer right behind, and with all the cable news networks, Hollywood insiders are predicting the 4 networks as we know it will be gone within 5 years. I believe it. … And speaking of sports, are you ready, the first NFL preseason game will be on NBC, Jacksonville versus the Las Vegas Raiders one week from today. As my old buddy, Vin Scully would say, I can’t believe it.

Odds and Ends: Just another clue that Britney’s not tracking. Her mom and dad want Britney to do a deposition, under oath to answer some what they say are slanderous things she has said about them, but she refuses. The key here is that she would be under oath. … Today Los Angeles county supervisors will decide whether or not to make masks mandatory again, but anti mask celebrities who live in Beverly Hills, Jenny McCarthy, Jim Carry and Bill Maher have convinced the Beverly Hills City Council to ignore the county order. … I saw a topless picture of 64 year old Sharon Stone, and she is still unbelievably hot!
