Movie Review Friday: I loved Minions: The Rise of Gru. It’s Gru and the rest of the Minions versus The Vicious Six and the newest Minion Otto is the funniest of the bunch! Set in 1970, this new film actually makes this old franchise refreshing! Constant action is matched by silly antics and it still works! In some ways is better than, Despicable Me. There is no logic, just fun and Steve Carell who is Gru’s voice is spot on, take the kids (PG) – (1 Hour, 27 Minutes) – (3 Stars).
TV News: It is true, there’s a TV film in the works about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Johnny Depp sidebar, Depp says for the foreseeable future he’s wearing braids. … If you liked the film, Knives Out, there will be two sequels coming to Netflix.
Odds and Ends: I don’t share enough good stories about celebrities like Paul Rudd and Sheryl Crow who spent time visiting kids at Dallas Children’s Hospital. And this week visiting kids at the Los Angeles Children’s hospital, Selena Gomez and Blake Lively! … I’ve told you for years that Machine Gun Kelly is a very odd duck and here’s more proof. To celebrate his concert at Madison Square Garden, he smashed a champagne glass in his own face causing five stitches. … Ghislaine Maxwell hasn’t even been sent to her new prison, but already there are stories of inmates threatening to kill her when she gets to prison. … There’s talk of a possible Beatle/Rolling Stone joint concert to aid Ukraine’s war effort. … While Cameron Diaz has come out of retirement to star in a movie with Kevin Hart, Brad Pitt says he is considering retiring from acting but he is producing at least eight films. … Wow, Beyonce has a new album called Renaissance and she appears on the cover on a glass horse and wearing less than a bikini, and Beyonce has never looked better.
