It’s movie review Friday and opening today, the prequel of Toy Story, LIGHTYEAR! So here’s the bottom line, it’s a fun movie for kids, that will dominate the box office, however, it’s not Toy Story. The story is clever and there are some fun surprises and Chris Evans voice works. If this was from any other studio other than Disney/Pixar, it would be 4 stars. But it is a Disney/Pixar movie and you expect more than what you get with Lightyear. (PG) – (100 Minutes) – (3 Stars).
Movie News: Scoopage, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, who are co-owners of Plan B Entertainment met at their offices to watch the final cut of, Blonde, the inside life story of Marilyn Monroe, played by Ana De Armas, also starring Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale and Jack Nicholson’s daughter, Julianne. And the scoop is, both Jennifer and Brad agreed, it was one of the best biopics ever made. Even the big wigs at Netflix are bubbling over in anticipation for the premier on September 24th. … And a lot of buzz on the live action, adventure, comedy, Barbie, starring Ryan Gosling as Ken, Margot Robbie as Barbie and Will Farrell. In theaters next summer.
Odds and Ends: On Monday I reported Beyonce had been spotted going into Gold Star recording studio the past month late at night and now word, Beyonce will be releasing her first album in years come July 29. May be her best ever. … Attempted Ronald Reagan murderer, John Hinkley’s concert tour has been canceled, despite people actually buying tickets for his appearance at Brooklyn’s Market Hotel, there were so many complaints, the whole tour has been scrubbed. No surprise. … Cheryl and I, like thousands of others were planning a few days vacation to Yellowstone Park this summer, but doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Yesterday, park officials, due to floods, announced the entire park will be closed indefinitely. That’s sad. … And the Better Business Bureau says there is one business that is thriving during the financial crisis. Pawn Shops up 800%, people needing money pawning their valuables.
