Movie Review Friday: And we start with, Downton Abbey: A New Era. The gang from upstairs and the downstairs staff are headed to the south of France as the Dowager, played by the great Maggie Smith get’s a great inheritance. Maybe a little corny but it’s charming, with lot’s of love twists, lot’s of smiles and a lot of laughs. It’s one of those movies you don’t want to end. Look, I know a lot of listeners are not big fans, however, women 18 to death love this franchise and it should do solid Box Office. I loved it (PG) – (2 Hours) – (3 ½ Stars). And a quickie regarding Downton Abby, while it has been positioned as the grand finale, if the box office is big enough, could be another. … Next is, Men. A really unique horror movie starring Jessie Buckley who retreats to an English country home to get over the death of her ex-husband but instead of peace, her life becomes a nightmare thanks to extremely creative writing and full of surprises. If you like scary, you’ll love this (Rated R) – (100 Minutes) – (3 Stars). … And also opening today, 2000 Mules. A documentary that is worth seeing (3 Stars).
Movie News: While we wont see it soon, I hear, The Lost Weekend, a documentary about May Ping’s 18 month relationship with John Lennon is great and worth waiting for.
