Report for Tuesday, May 3rd

I watched the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial yesterday as Depp wrapped his case. We learned in 2017, Johnny made over $35 million for four movies. Depp’s agent also said he lost $22 million after Disney dropped him from Pirates of the Caribbean, all because of Amber. I still say this is a toss-up.

Some must see TV on Netflix, The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes, is fabulous. … And I can’t say enough great things about, The Offer, the behind the scenes series on Paramount Plus, the inside story of the making of, The Godfather. Battles with the Studio, with Gulf and Western the owner of the studio, the real mafia, Frank Sinatra, the casting, and a lot more. It is amazing Godfather ever got made. 10 episodes (4 Stars)!

Movie News: Land of Bad starring Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth is already getting a lot of buzz. Russell plays Reaper, and when his covert military mission is jeopardized, his creative use of drones changes the way wars are fought. … Very few people have seen the new Elvis movie, however Baz Luhrmann has allowed Priscilla Presley to see it and she gave it thumbs up. But why wouldn’t she, if it is a hit, that will bring more people to Graceland and Priscilla gets a piece of every ticket sold!

Odds and Ends: Very strange seeing Axl Rose and Carrie Underwood on stage together at Stagecoach, but they were great! Hey, Stagecoach is always better that Coachella! … This week in New York is the Met Gala, hosted by Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds! A week when ego driven designers rollout their hideous cloths nobody would be caught dead in! With all the poor and homeless people, I find the Met Gala rather, ah, disgusting. … Second City Comedy TV are trying to put together a huge alumni celebration reunion. Already invited are Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Mike Myers, Martin Short, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bob Odenkirk and others. Sounds like a hoot!

Bizarre N.Y. Post Front Page headline. Above the story about a pizza delivery man who was shot and killed by an unhappy customer, headline screamed, “Takeout.”
