Report for Friday, Mar 11th

So after three years, Jussie Smollett was finally sentenced yesterday and while there was all that talk of the Smollett paying the brothers to pull the racist hoax, and the lies and the cover-up, the judge pointed out Jessie was the only charged with was filing a false police report and disorderly conduct. Jessie got $10 million in publicity and 5 months in jail! What a jerk.

So I am quick to point it out when I break a story, only fair I admit when I am wrong and I am happy to admit I was wrong, and the baseball labor dispute has been settled.

Movie Review Friday: Only one movie in wide released today is Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red. An animated kids movie about a 13 year old girl who accidentally turns into a 15 foot red teddy bear with super strength. It is funny, creative, warm, tender, loving and thought provoking but most of all a kids cartoon (PG) – (3 and 1/2 Stars). … As far as movies go, The Batman, is still out there,  must see 4 Stars for everybody.

Movie News: You probably never heard of John Macks, but he is a Hollywood writer credited with writing the best Oscar scripts and bits in history including, Steve Martin, Billy Crystal and Chris Rocks material, and he is writing this years Oscar scripts for Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall and Amy Schumer. So should be good.

TV News: Can’t believe it, but Pete Davidson is getting his own TV Show and it is appropriately called, Bupkis! Davidson will star as a fictional version of himself. … Nick Cannon’s talk show was canceled before his first season was even over. But that’s not a record, years ago Magic Johnson had a late night talk show that lasted 3 weeks.

Look for a new mini series about Harvey Marcelin, an 83 year old transgender woman and apparently a serial killer who’s been arrested 36 times, 3 times for murder, and just last week, more bodies were found in her Brooklyn home.
