Report for Thursday, Dec 2nd

Love Nugget: Jennifer Lopez loves her glass of wine before dinner but the day she got back together with alcoholic Ben Affleck, she gave up wine and all booze. That’s love.

Hot Scoop: There are strong rumors that Woody Allen may be called as a witness for the defense in the Ghislaine Maxwell case, which I find hard to believe.

Lawsuit News: The Gucci family is considering a $100 million lawsuit against Bron Studios and United Artists for slander regarding the film, House Of Gucci.

TV News: Don’t miss the Stephanopoulos/Alec Baldwin interview tonight on ABC. Baldwin now swear he did not pull the trigger. Question, well who the hell did? … HBO’s Los Angeles Lakers Drama series is going full steam ahead, it is entitled, Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s. Starring Adrien Brody, Michael Chiklis, Jason Segel, Michael Shannon, John C. Reilly, Sally Field and others. The mini-series will debut in March. I covered the Lakers back then and remember the press conference announcing Kareem and Magic joining the Lakers. I can’t wait, they’ll be one hour segments but we don’t know how many episodes yet. Sounds great.

Movie News: Coming December 10th, Being the Ricardos featuring Nicole Kidman as Lucille Ball. This a look at just two weeks of Lucy and Desi’s life when she finds out about his infidelity, the explosion of I Love Lucy and the FBI accusing Lucy of being a communist! In theaters Dec 10th (4 Stars). … West Side Story, the remake directed by Steven Spielberg is terrific! Originally released 60 years ago today, Coming out December 10th. … Nicolas Cage will play Dracula in his next movie. Is it me or does that sound horrible? … Here’s a tease. Suzanna Son and Simon Rex star in one of my favorite movies of the year, review tomorrow.

Odds and Ends: Several security firms have been hired by a couple high end stores to have armed guards at doors, with guns who would open fire on a mob smash and grab attack with rubber bullets. That would stop them in their tracks but not be fatal.
