Movie Review Friday: We start off with, French Dispatch. A great movie set in the 60’s about a Kansas newspaper guy who moves and takes over a French paper with the best journalists who write compelling stories about travel, politics, crime and the arts. The Kansas editor is played by Bill Murray and his extraordinary journalist and the cast include, Frances McDormand, Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson and Adrian Brody. This movie will make you laugh out loud! A fabulous, funny film (99 Minutes) – (2 Hours) – (3 1/2 Stars). Some Murray scoop. He’s in the next Ghostbusters, will star in Ant-Man and the Wasp. And in the comedy, King of Counterfeit, Bill’s got a lot of range and a busy guy. … Next, Last Night in Soho, blew my mind, in a good way. When a girl played brilliantly by Thomasin McKenzie in current day England has dreams that takes her back to 1960’s New York where she’s able to shadow a hot singer played by Anya Taylor-Joy, it’s fun! However, each night her dream takes her deeper into the singer’s life, until she witnesses her murder and decides to try to bring the killer to justice. Great writing, great acting and one of the most creative films in years (Rated R) – (2 Hours) – (4 Stars).
Odds and Ends: What a strange lawsuit, Phil Collins ex-wife who divorced him back in 2008 is suing Collins for depression, permanent health damage, abuse and incapable even now of having sex, claiming Phil’s not bathing and brushing his teeth is the reason. … Real Estate News, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry aren’t married, but they are building a home in Los Cabos, Mexico, looking to buy in Hawaii and planning another baby. … Always like to share the hobbies of celebrities and what they do on their off time, like Angelina Jolie loves to shop at Thrift stores, Brad Pitt makes pottery, Julia Roberts knits, Cameron Diaz is a fabulous snow boarder, Susan Sarandon loves playing ping pong! Miley Cyrus collects hair of other celebrities including hair from Madonna, Cher, Taylor Swift, Courtney Love and others. For me, I just play golf.
