Movie Review: I just can’t wait to review the movie, Stillwater, which opens Friday and has Oscar written all over it. Matt Damon plays a rough around the edges oil worker from Stillwater, Oklahoma who heads to Marseille, France to visit his daughter in jail, played brilliantly by Abigail Breslin. Abigail is in prison for killing her lesbian college roommate lover, but swears she’s innocent. However, there are those who believe she’s guilty and will do anything to get rid of Matt’s interference. Matt’s character is clueless about the law, the language, the lay of the land and everything else in France. He gets no help until he meets a french actress with a young daughter who offers to help in this seemingly impossible mission. You’ll feel a part of the struggle while seeking the truth. But what is the truth? (Rated R) – (Little long at 2 hours 20 minutes) – (3 Solid Stars).
