Friday Movie Reviews: Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain, is the best of the best. This is a great documentary about the great chef and his travels, his views and his dreams. Sure Bourdain was a great chef, but a humanitarian, an explorer and more important, a gentle loving romantic who always had a kind word for everybody he met. Fabulous! I loved every minute of this (4 Stars).
Next, Gunpowder Milkshake. A mom, a daughter, and three other bad ass women have to protect a young girl from the Firm, a ruthless gang who lives for the kill order and is run by Paul Giamatti. It’s violent, over the top, non-stop action, good versus evil and to quote Bruce Springsteen, “its bad to the bone.” Playing at selected theaters and Netflix (Rated R) – (Under 2 Hours) – (3 Stars) I liked it.
Next, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions. Like it’s predecessors, a true thriller! Six unsuspecting folks find themselves having to escape from escape rooms or die trying. I liked Quiet Place 1 and 2 and I like this sequel as well. A horror movie, a thriller and even some mystery (Rated PG-13) – (88 Minutes) – (3 Stars).
Next, Space Jam: A New Legacy, with LeBron James. I would say starring but he’s no star! James should stick with basketball and bullying people. This is just a hideous movie in every way, no other way to describe it (Rated PG) – (2 Hours that seem like 5) – (1 Star0.
On the other hand there’s, Josee, the Tiger and the Fish. A little Japanese animated film on Netflix and in selected theaters. Despite the subtitles, Josee the Tiger and the Fish is a terrific kids movie. It’s everything Space Jam isn’t. If you can take the subtitles (4 Stars).
And please don’t forget, Pig, the Nicholas Cage movie that I gave (4 Stars).
Love the front page headline of the New York Post. Following with Britney’s new attorney’s great argument for her to be released from the conservatorship, The headline above a Britney’s beaming picture screamed, “Britney Cheers.”
