Report for Thursday, June 3rd

Hot Love Nugget: Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Bieber are trying to have a baby.

Best item of the day comes from an impeccable source aboard USS Abraham Lincoln, Aircraft carrier. After a day of shooting Mission Impossible Maverick, Tom Cruise returned to the ship. At that time they were serving general Mess dinner. It’s a long single line to get chow and Cruise just marched to the front of the line only to be jerked by the collar by a Navy Chief Petty officer who got right in Cruise’s face and said, “I don’t care who the hell you are, nobody cuts in front of my men.” Cruise started to balk, but quickly decided to go to the back of the line.

Odds and Ends: The highest award given at the Cannes Film Festival is the Palme D’Or and it will be given to Jodie Foster. And a little about Jodie you may have not known. Her very first acting gig was on TV Show Mayberry RFD. In 1975 she landed the part of a prostitute in Taxi Driver and was nominated for an Oscar. Jodie works out everyday, at the same time at the gym as Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper. Jodi has two kids but has never divulged who the father is but rumors include Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson. … F.Y.I. June is the start of Hurricane season in the Atlantic, fire season in the west and a lot of earthquakes seem to happen this time of year. In fact Disneyland had a 3.1 last week.

Poop. Another former L.A. Dodger who was with the team when I was has passed. Relief pitcher Mike Marshall, a Cy Young winner and off season he taught physics at Michigan State. I once made the mistake of asking Mike if a pitch fouled straight back was going faster than when it was hit. It was before a game and he started drawing pictures in the dirt in front of the dugout for 30 minutes. Short answer, no, it has to be going slower because of friction. A very odd dude, but really liked him. Mike was 74, may he rest in peace.
