TV Ratings News: Daytime talkers continue to jockey for position, and there are some surprises. #1 is Dr. Phil with a 3.1, #2 Live with Kathie Lee and Ryan Seacrest with a 2.7, #3 is Ellen with a 1.5 however, 18 months ago she had a 3.4, her ratings are in the toilet. Maury Povich 1.4, Kelly Clarkson 1.3, Rachael Ray 1.2, Tamron Hall 1.1. and Jerry Springer’s clone, Steve Wilko also a 1.1.
Two Boxing Films: First the movie, Father Stu, the biopic of former boxer Stuart Long who changed his life and became a well respected Catholic Priest. Mel Gibson’s partner Rosalind Ross wrote the script and will direct. Mel Gibson will play Stuart Long’s father, Mark Wahlberg will play Stuart Long and is also the executive producer. … The other Boxing film is actually a mini series, the life story of Mike Tyson, from his first fight to his last and all the trials in between. Jamie Foxx will star as Mike Tyson. Oh yeah, Hulu has their own Tyson mini-series, Iron Mike, which Tyson fought to keep it from airing and says it’s all lies. It’s an 8 part series, release date this summer.
TV News: It’s official, no Oscar host but the show is still scheduled for over 3 hours. Ted Danson’s, Mr. Mayor, on NBC has been renewed. It’s weak but not horrible.
