Report for Tuesday, Mar 23rd

Movie Nugget: I mentioned City of Lies a couple weeks ago, the thriller starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker as semi-retired LAPD out to find the truth regarding the deaths of Notorious BIG and Tupac. Shot 3 years ago, it is currently playing at a theater near you and available on Apple streaming. This is a very good movie, but not getting many views. I really liked it and re-recommend it (3 Stars). … Just started pre-production, but already has huge buzz, Family Jewels. About three woman forced to spend Christmas together along with their children and grand children after the man they were all married too, drops dead in a Shopping Mall. Starring Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn. Remember these three also starred together in First Wives Club, which cost $22 million to make and has made $200 million.

Dumb Nuggets: Never give up! Walt Disney was fired from his first Hollywood job. Reason, his boss said he didn’t have an imagination for the future. And after 6 months as a reporter for a Baltimore TV Station, Oprah was fired and told, sorry, people won’t watch you on TV. Your appearance is a turn off. Again, never give up. … Comedian Mike Brady suggests that Jump King who makes Trampolines should get politically and culture correct. Brady says change the name from Trampoline to Jumpoline so they don’t insult someones mother! Now that’s funny.

Odds and Ends: Once again the Happiest Place on Earth proves it isn’t! New law suit against Disney claiming they not only pay women and minorities less than white males, but they have hidden those facts from authorities. … Interesting, Mrs. Fields Cookie stores blow smoke from ovens cooking cookies out of the store to get people to come in and theaters re-circulate popcorn cooking in theaters. … There’s been talk that Mel Gibson is a bigot. Don’t know, however his son-in-law, guitarist Kenny Shepherd, lost his Blues Award nomination because he’s been photographed with the Confederate Flag. He has since apologized, removed all Confederate flags and I believe him. But his Gibson connection continues to haunt him.
