Movie News: Nomadland is based on the book by Jessica Bruder about American’s who have lost everything and must live in campers in a commune with those in the same situation. Starring Frances McDormand, it has mainly been kept under wraps but those who have seen it, call it the best film of the year. Winning tons of awards and set for release February 19th. … The other movie being called the best of the year is Tom Hank’s, News of the World and great news, while it’s been in theaters, it will be available on demand this Friday. … Not all the news is good, despite Wonder Woman 1984 already being green lighted for a sequel, it’s a financial disappointment. Wonder Woman 1984 cost $216 million to make, however it has only made $131 million world wide. It will be lucky to break even. … And looking ahead, Babylon, it’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood but set in 1930’s Hollywood and stars Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Tobey Maguire. Babylon won’t be released for another 2 years but it’s getting more buzz than any other movie in years. I can’t wait.
TV News: Ellen Degeneres is back shooting her TV show with fewer sponsors, lower ratings and the same goes for her Game of Games show. Ellen is on a short leash.
TV Review: HBO is airing a two part documentary special called, Tiger. The first episode was Sunday and it was 4 stars. The second is next Sunday. This is must see TV.
Odds and Ends: Big News, it isn’t that the mustard has come off the Harry/Meghan Hot Dog in Hollywood, I don’t think it ever got on the bun. Movie deals, TV deals, reality shows, specials just haven’t materialized. Surveys and research shows the American public just isn’t as interested in them as Hollywood thought they would be. … There’s been no secret that agents have the reputation of screwing their clients, but this is ridiculous. A tax audit showed that Adele’s agent made $6,142,355 more than Adele herself. There will be a criminal investigation involving this matter. … And did you know Adam Sandler, Charleze Theron and Mark Zuckerberg surf together?
