Report for Wednesday, Sept 30th

A horrible autobiography book review. “The Meaning Of Mariah Carey,” somebody call the whambulance! She complains she had a bad childhood, she lives from Christmas to Christmas because everything in between is so hard. She wouldn’t wish her life on her worst enemy. She’s always felt like she didn’t belong and that her sister got her hooked on Rx’s.  Complains she’s had two bad marriages, says her life has been harder than people know. Really? Mariah owns 21 cars, 11 homes, a staff of 53 people and is worth $562 million. Hey Mariah, I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man that had no feet.

TV News: Marie Osmond didn’t leave The Talk TV show to spend more time with her family, she was fired because she had become more popular than Sharon Osbourne. Sharon even threatened to quit unless Marie was fired and the network blinked. And while Sharon Osbourne was well liked as an America’s Got Talent judge, she was so difficult to work with so Simon Cowell fired her.

Saturday Night Live returns this week. The audience must arrive 8 hours before the show, all will be tested for corona, all must wear masks and same for the cast and crew.

Head’s up, next Monday marks the 60th Anniversary of Andy Griffith Show and TV Land will celebrate with a five night marathon. Which brings me to an old Mike Evans story. Many, many years ago during the heyday of Andy Griffith, me and a buddy were driving down Sunset Boulevard and next to us was this huge Lincoln Continental driven by Barney Fife, aka Don Knotts. We decided to follow him, after several miles he realized we were following him and when he turned into the under ground security gate at 9000 Sunset, where he lived, we stayed on his bumper and followed him in. Don jumped out of his car and ran to the garage elevators, us in hot pursuit. That’s when Don Knotts started yelling, “Take my money, take my money!” We explained we were just fans, Don smiled and backed into the elevator.
