Surprising Movie Review: June 12th on demand, The King of Staten Island. A dramady, the life story of Pete Davidson. While I’ve never been a fan, the movie has changed that some what. The movie is interesting and compelling. Davidson was a complicated and confused kid. Add the death of his fireman dad on 9/11 when Pete was only 7 certainly complicated his life even more. Stars Marisa Tomei and Steve Buscemi and Buscemi actually knew Davidson’s dad when Steve he was a NYC Fireman. Pete was a wanna be tattoo artist and even considered being a fireman like dad all the time fighting demons. This movie is fascinating and also corny. (2 ½ Stars).
