Great movies open on Christmas

Celebrity Christmas Pop Quiz: Name the star who grew up on a Christmas Tree farm. Is it Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Taylor Swift or Tina Faye?

Four great movies open Christmas, I will review 2 today and 2 tomorrow. First, Unbroken. Directed by Angelina Jolie, this is the true story of a true great American, Louis Zamperini. An Olympian, a war hero, a survivor, a prisoner of War and much, much more. It is one of the most unbelievable stories you will ever see, and for me by far, the best movie of the year. Jack O’Connell is brilliant at Zamperini, this movie is so real, it’s sometimes hard to watch, but a must see! (Rated R) – (137 Minutes) – (4 Stars) By the way, years ago Zamperini met with Billy Graham, became a Christian and called it the greatest thing he did, changed his life, and Universal cut it from the movie, Angelina Jolie was furious! Final Zamperini he was supposed to be the Rose Parade Marshal this year but died in July at 97.

Into The Woods is brilliant in every way, originally a great Broadway play. Starring Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine and Johnny Depp. This is visually magnificent, a solid script and lots of action. A comedy/fantasy that’s fun from beginning to end. It’s a little Cinderella, Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood, only wish there was more Big Bad Wolf who is played by Johnny Depp. Great Holiday film. (Rated PG13) – (125 Minutes) – (3 Stars)

Date in History, Dec 23rd was also declared, Festivus Day on Seinfeld Show. And my favorite Hollywood star died on this date, 1982, the great Jack Webb.

Answer – Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, moved to Nashville, Tennessee when she was 13 and raised on a Christmas tree farm, Taylor Swift.
