Usually I do occasional book reviews during the summer, however, one of a life time friends and one of the greatest sports writer if not the greatest sports writer, Jerry Izenberg has just released the book, Once There Were Giants. Jerry has covered every heavyweight championship fight for the New York Post and Newark Star Ledger from 1962 to 1997, and has been personal friends with all of them, from Ali to Tyson to the current champion. Ben Affleck has hit the skids. Ben’s wife Jennifer Garner will reportedly file for the finalization of their divorce this week. His career is headed the same way, “Batman – Justice League” isn’t even out yet and already the word is it’s bad, even worse than his Batman-vs-Superman which bombed. More recent bombs include, Live By Night, Suicide Squad, Runner/Runner and The Accountant didn’t bomb but didn’t do the business expected. In the past 6 months Ben has also been in and out of rehabs, he reportedly has a huge gambling debt. Very sad. Add to that the success of his brother Casey, Ben’s to be on the down side.
