Movie Review: Safe House opens Friday, an action thriller starring Denzel Washington as a renegade CIA agent that is arrested and secured in a Safe House in South Africa under the security watch of Ryan Reynolds. The safe house is attacked, Denzel and Ryan are forced to hit the road and trust each other. Let the excitement begin. I should point out I love Denzel! (Rated R) – (118 Minutes) – (3 Stars).

TV News: NBC’s Smash was a smash Monday night, coming in #1 and beating Hawaii 5-0 by 2 million viewers. … House has been canceled by FOX.

Odds and Ends: Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan are proud parents of their first child, a daughter, Eaton Elizabeth. Downey is putting finishing touches on Avengers and Iron Man 3. News From Home: Gary Sinise is taking time off from CSI NY and has paid all expenses to Hawaii for his Lt. Dan Band. They will play for the Marines at Kaneohe Marine Base, on Oahu, on Saturday. … The pride of Wailuku, Maui, Philadelphia Phillies’ Shane Victorino will appear on Hawaii 5-0, Feb 20th!

TV News: Prediction! By the end of next season, The Voice will surpass American Idol and X-Factor in the ratings. … Jimmy Kimmel will host a great special after the Oscars on ABC and all the stars, from Brad Pitt to Meryl Streep, will be on the show. … Bet you didn’t know that American Idol held auditions in New York City. But due to schedule conflicts, the 3 judges couldn’t be there. So, they didn’t tape the auditions. , but the best contestants were asked to make their way to a city that did have the judges, for a final try out. Many did.

Kardashian Update: When Kim highlights her charity work, on her TV Show, she spends 2 hours in the make up trailer, only 30 minutes on the Los Angeles Soup line with homeless.

Steve Tisch, New York Giant owner, is the only man that has both an Oscar, which he won for producing Forrest Gump and a Super Bowl ring which he got when the Giants won the Super Bowl. Which would you rather have, an Oscar or a Super Bowl Ring?

I thought the commercials were weak. My favorite was the Sketchers commercials with the dogs. Loved Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Accura spot. Bud and Bud Light spots were good, but Bud Platinum spots were bad. The Voice TV promo with Betty White was excellent. Disappointing was the David Beckham underwear spot, who was that aimed at?

Only thing worse than Madonna was Nicki Minaj flipping off America when the camera got a close up on her. Minaj is untalented trailer trash.

As for the game, loved it. I won’t tell you how much, but I won some!

Odds and Ends: Celebrities at the game, Adam Sandler, Jay Z, Ben Affleck, Pat Sajak, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jon Bon Jovi, Steven Tyler, Mark Wahlberg, Katy Perry, Lanny Kravitz and a lot of others. Next year’s Super Bowl will be held in New Orleans. Justin Bieber has been let it be known he would love to sing at a Super Bowl halftime,

Moving right along, Smash debuts tonight and I expect big ratings. The only competition is Hawaii 5-0 which may be the worst written show on TV!
